The US Mint celebrated the 30th anniversary of the American Silver Eagle coins in 2016. This coin is different than in previous years and the 2016 bullion silver eagle - as it features a lettered edge containing the words "30TH ANNIVERSARY" instead of the reeded edge. Depicted below is an example image of the lettered edge on the burnished uncirculated coin. Note how the edge is otherwise smooth without the reeding:
