The 2014 Lou Hoover First Spouse half ounce gold coin was produced in two types. There was the brilliant uncirculated gold bullion coin (depicted above) and the mirror-like gold proof coin (depicted below). Both $10 denomination coins bear the West Point "W" mintmark and contain 1/2oz of fine gold. The obverse of the coin depicts the portrait of Lou Hoover - the spouse of President Herbert Hoover. The reverse of the coin depicts a 1920s style radio which symbolizes Lou Hoover becoming the first (First Lady) to deliver a public radio address to the nation.
