What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.): There were two major varieties of the 1820 Capped Bust Quarter - The one depicted above is the small "0" variety. One variety had a small "0" in the 1820 date while the other had a large "0". The best way to identify the variety is to compare the size and alignment of the "0" relative to the "2". The small "0" is actually thicker than the large "0" but the smaller one is about equal in size to the "2" and closer to it. The large "0" is much larger than the "2" and farther away. (Both varieties could just as easily be called small "2" vs large "2" since it's actually easier to tell the difference between the sizes of the "2"!).
