There were two major varieties of the 1811 Capped Bust Half Dollar in regards to the style of the numbers in the 1811 date. The Small "8" features thinner numbers and a noticeably smaller "8" in the date (as depicted above). The Large "8" variety has thicker numbers including a larger "8" as well.
