What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.):
1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar - Normal Date - 7x6 Stars Obverse - With Berries
One major variety is the 1799 Draped Bust Silver Dollar with a Normal Date. This variety also features 7x6 stars on the obverse (7 stars on the left and 6 stars on the right) . The reverse features an eagle holding a branch with also features berries on it.

There are three major varieties regarding the date of the coin. These include the Normal Date - Irregular Date - and 1799/8 Overdate. The Normal Date is simply the standard date without any errors or major features. The Irregular date is very similar to the Normal Date except for the second "9" in the 1799 date. The second "9" is positioned lower and is oriented more towards the right (turned more clockwise) relative to the first "9". The 1799/8 Overdate is also very easy to identify with a 1799 date struck over an 1798 date on the die - resulting in parts of the underlying "8" being seen within and around the last "9" in the date. The differences between these two varieties is depicted below in the example comparison image:

There are also two major varieties regarding the positioning of the stars on the obverse of the coin. One variety features 7x6 stars (7 stars on the left and 6 stars on the right - While another variety features 8x5 stars (8 stars on the left and 5 on the right). The difference between the 7x6 stars vs 8x5 stars obverse is depicted below in the example comparison image:

The Normal Date variety has two major varieties of the reverse of the coin - particularly regarding the branch that the eagle is holding and the number of berries on the branch. One variety features no berries on the branch while the other variety does feature berries (there are also sub-varieties based on the size of the berries themselves - but do not list them here as there are so many different varieties). The difference between the No Berries vs With Berries varieties is depicted below in the example comparison image:
