1808 Draped Bust Half Cent Penny Varieties
There were two major varieties of the 1808 Draped Bust Half Cent (Penny). The first variety is simply the normal date with no errors - which is depicted above in the example image.

The second variety is the 1808/7 Overdate Error which depicts an "8" over "7". An 1808 date was struck over and on top of an earlier 1807 date. This resulted in parts of the underlying "7" appearing just above the final "8" in the 1808 date as depicted by the arrows in the example image of the coin below:
