1796 Draped Bust Quarter - Small Eagle Reverse
The very first US Quarter Dollar ever made was produced in 1796 as the Draped Bust Quarter. This coin did not have a denomination indicator such as "25 C." or "Quarter Dollar" - So the denomination was simply discerned by the diameter size of the coin. The reverse of the coin features the Small Eagle portrait.
