One major variety of the 1828 Capped Bust Quarter is the 25/50C type. This variety can be identified by studying the "25 C." denomination on the bottom of the reverse of the coin. This denomination was struck over "50 C." which resulted in parts of the "50" being seen under the "25" as depicted in the example image above.
