What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.): One variety of the 1806 Draped Bust Half Dollar features a knobbed "6" in the 1806 date and small stars on the obverse of the coin. The "6" has a knob on the upper tip - unlike other varieties that have a pointed tip. The difference between the knobbed 6 vs pointed 6 is depicted below in the example comparison image:
The large stars variety has slightly larger stars - but it is often difficult to distinguish the difference between the small stars and large stars. The large stars variety has a recut letter "T" in the word "LIBERTY" - which looks doubled. Also star number 10 is also recut and slight doubled at the upper-most spike. The large stars are slightly closer to the rim of the coin than the smaller stars.
