1806 Draped Bust Half Dollars : Knobbed 6 - Stem Not Through Claw

What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.):

One variety of the 1806 Draped Bust Half Dollar features a knobbed "6" in the 1806 date and no stem through the eagle's claw on the reverse of the coin. This is an extremely rare and very valuable variety (Source of example image is courtesy of Heritage Auction Galleries). The "6" has a knob on the upper tip - unlike other varieties that have a pointed tip. The difference between the knobbed 6 vs pointed 6 is depicted below in the example comparison image:



Looking at the reverse of the coin: The eagle is holding a branch in it's claw on the right side. Typically there will be a stem extending through the claw and downward. Some varieties do not have a stem going through the claw (such as this variety).
