One major variety of the 1798 Draped Bust Silver Dollar features a Knob 9 on the obverse of the coin and 5 vertical stripes or lines on the shield on the reverse of the coin as depicted above.

There were two major style varieties of the "9" in the 1798 date. One variety features a knob on the lower curl of the 9 and the other variety features a pointed end with no knob. The difference between the knob 9 vs pointed 9 is depicted below in the example comparison image:
