What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.):There are multiple varieties and combinations of varieties of the 1795 Liberty Cap Half Cent (Penny). Two major varieties deal with the pole on the obverse of the coin. The standard design depicts the bottom of the pole on the lower-right side of the liberty bust while the error variety is missing this pole. The difference between the pole vs no pole is depicted above in the example comparison image.
Two varieties also deal with features around the edge of the coin. Some coins had a lettered edge which features the words "TWO HUNDRED FOR A DOLLAR" along the edge. Although some coins were too thin to contain the letters so they left them with plain smooth edges instead. An example of the text on the edge of the half cent is depicted below:
Another variety has a Punctuated Date - which features a comma-like mark between the "1" and "7" within the 1795 date. This is actually not part of the intended design but was the result of a die defect. An example of this punctuated date is depicted below in the example image of the variety:
