What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.): There are a few major varieties of the 1805 Draped Bust Half Cent (Penny). There are three different sizes of the number "5" in the 1805 date on the obverse of the coin. The small "5" can be identified by being the smallest size and is further (widely spaced) away from the "0" whereas the medium "5" is very slightly larger and spaced closer to the "0". The large "5" is much easier to identify as it is noticeably larger and nearly touches the bust of the liberty head portrait. In addition: The small and large "5" varieties have a similar reverse with two stems below the wreath. The Medium "5" variety will not have stems (stemless) on the wreath - which greatly helps identify the coin variety if the sizes of the "5" can't be distinguished.
