1788 2 Reales silver Spanish coin, traded in the Spanish settlements and colonies including Mexico. Sometimes it was stolen by pirates and sometimes it wound up in shipwrecks. This coin was minted 226 years ago, 5 years after America won its independence at Yorktown. It is silver, probably pure. It has a very worn bust of Charles III, the King of Spain during that era. It reads, in Latin, Carolus (Charles) III Dei G. (Thank God or Thanks be to God) Hispanairum Rex (King of Spain). Charles III had a large nose which was prominent in profile on his coins. 1788 was the last year of his reign. Comes in a 2x2. This coin is 1" in diameter. No international shipping or APO boxes. US sales only. Sorry, but it has to do with the rates.
