This item is a 1793 Flowing Hair Wreath Reverse Large Cent Exonumia Fantasy Coin. The item being offered is not a replica or a reproduction of a standard-issue US Mint coin as the coin has a plain edge, and the diameter is larger than the standard diameter of 26-28 mm. This is the version of the coin that displays the normal sprig above the date on the obverse. Standard issue wreath reverse flowing hair cents displayed either an edge with bars and slender vine with leaves, or had the lettered edge: ONE HUNDRED FOR A DOLLAR. The 1793 flowing hair cent was one of the first coins issued by the US Mints and only 63,353 specimens of the wreath reverse were minted. The coin is made of copper. It weighs 9.46+/- grams and measures 29+/- millimeters in diameter. This is a way to own one of these very rare coins to fill a hole in a collection or for educational purposes.
