This is a reproduction of a 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar, that is marked 'COPY' on the reverse. The Flowing Hair Half Dollars were the first half dollars issued by the US Mints, and were minted only in 1794 and 1795. The Half Dollars were minted with edge lettering that read FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR. This was done to discourage the practice of shaving the edges for the silver. The reproduction is made of copper with silver plating and weighs 13.14+/- grams. It is 32+/- mm in diameter. Please buy with confidence based on my 100% positive feedback on both USA Coin Book and eBay for many years. Shipping is by USPS First Class Mail and is FREE. Returns accepted within 30 days; buyer pays return shipping costs.
