This is a replica of the 1795 Liberty Cap Copper Large Cent with Reeded Edge that is marked 'COPY' on the reverse. The Liberty Cap Large Cents were minted from 1793 through 1796 and all in Philadelphia. In 1795, there were 3 different edges displayed on the coin; lettered edge, plain edge, and reeded edge. Only 6 specimens of the reeded edge are known to exist. This is a way of owning a replica of this rare coin for educational purposes.
