1797 Liberty Cap Half Cent, one of the first coins put out by the fledgling United States Mint. It shows environmental damage, corrosion and wear.The date is just made out and LIBERTY along with the bust. The reverse is rotated ninety degrees counter-clockwise but is half worn away. It is the correct size and weight for a worn Half Cent. 4.69 grams, 23.5 mm
