Item Description
B-3, Choice Fine (Fine-15+). Old cleaning as common, however this spent a lot of years afterward in an album and has retoned around the rims, so being more attractive than most similarly cleaned examples. Well struck with weakness on only one Star on the Reverse. This appears to be an early die state, as no signs of dies clashes or die cracks as noted in Tompkins; he notes this as rare. Rim tap at 12:30 (shown). Not worth what an unimpaired (or relatively unimpaired) specimen would be, but then it is not priced at $1,000+ either. Still well deserving of a place in a Type album. Please note that due to value this will require Insured shipping with Signature Confirmation, hence the S&H shown.
