Item Description
The Mint was pretty inconsistent in the old days, with all sorts of variations on coins within a year, and with oddball issues like this one, with one date stamped over the other. If you like oddities, this is a nice example of an overdate on a Capped Bust half dollar. Fair amount of wear on the coin, but it has a pleasing patina and the second eight looks like it has ears or horns due to that 7 sticking out from behind. Cool coin!
Grade: I judge this coin to be VG-10, but you be the judge. I examine coins under a microscope and evaluate them according to PCGS Photograde Online and
