1820/19 Capped Bust Half Dollar, Choice Extremely Fine, Popular Overdate

O-102, Curl Base 2. A sharp coin with Almost Uncirculated detail, in my opinion, which I have “netted” down a half grade in terms of pricing for minor issues. As is seemingly almost inevitable with this series, I think this saw a light cleaning a very long time ago. There are no obvious signs of this such as heavy hairlines, however the surface on the Reverse is just a bit dull and the color is slightly suspicious. This still shows obvious luster around the Obverse stars, and the star centers are particularly sharp. There is an old light scratch behind Liberty’s head, not enough to be a serious problem with eye appeal, but enough to prevent certification in a normal holder (this is sold with the guarantee that it is genuine and will certify as EF Details however). This is a popular overdate as it is obvious without magnification, so it is relatively common - obviously it was noticed by enough people when coins were released to encourage a high degree of saving. This is normally a $1000 or so coin in a PCGS holder, so my price should be reasonable for someone who wants a high grade coin for a raw set.
