Item Description
O-116a. A later die state with extensive die cracks getting heavier and more obvious. Great strike with full feather details on the Eagle; other than some flatness in the stars due to the die state, a fully struck Obverse as well. Lightly cleaned in the past as usual, however still quite attractive, with attractive old album toning. Some light hairlines are visible but significant obvious luster around the Obverse rim, more on the better protected Reverse. My impression is that was an AU/Unc (AU-58) coin prior to the cleaning, which appears to be close to a Century old. This would not pass at a grading service other than as a details coin, but if you want a nice coin for a Type set, this should work. This would normally be a $600 to $800 coin if certified; discounted accordingly for the old cleaning. Please note that due to value this will require Insured shipping with Signature Confirmation.
