This item is a 1834 Gold $2-1/2 Quarter Eagle Capped Head, Motto On Reverse, Exonumia Fantasy Coin. It is not a replica or a reproduction of a standard-issue US Mint coin as the the coin has a larger diameter than the standard-issue coins of this date/design. Only 4000 Quarter Eagles of this date/design (1834 capped Head) were minted, and most of these were never issued and were melted at the Mint. This is a chance to own one of these rare specimens to fill a blank in a collection or for educational purposes. The coin is made of copper with gold plating.
