Half Cent denominated Hard Times token, HT-73, struck “for public convenience” in 1837 as the U. S. Mint had temporarily ceased production of the denomination. A popular Redbook variety, collected along with the U. S. Federal series, as well as part of the “Hard Times” series. An original Choice Uncirculated example, with pretty original surfaces, a medium Brown with steel blue toning highlights around the rim. Always a bit difficult to value & price as Uncirculated specimens while scarce are not truly rare, however they consistently sell at over $800 at auction (Wholesale). Two reasonably recent sales in the grade at Heritage, a PCGS MS-64BN at $1,020, and an NGC MS-64BN with important provenance at $1,320. Based upon that, my price seems reasonable. Please note that due to value this will require Insured shipping with Signature Confirmation, hence the S&H shown. Based upon delivery address this MAY require Registered Mail shipping, which is slower delivery time. If in any doubt, feel free to ask. Optional shipping by Insured Express Mail - all services quoted are below my actual cost.

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
