1838-C Gold $5 Half Eagle, Classic Head, Exonumia Fantasy Issue Coin

This item is a 1838-C Liberty Head $10 Gold Eagle, motto above eagle on reverse, Exonumia Fantasy Coin. It is not a replica or a reproduction of a standard-issue US Mint coin as the the coin has a larger diameter than the standard-issue coins of this date/design. Only 17179 Half Eagles were minted at the Charlotte, North Carolina Mint in 1838. Only gold coins from 1838 to 1861 were minted at the 'C' Mint in North Carolina. This is a chance to own one of these specimens to fill a blank in a collection or for educational purposes. The coin is made of copper with gold plating.
