1843-dated token issued by the Wekande Mills of George Steuart & Company of Colombo, Sri Lanka (nee Ceylon). Pridmore-96. Actually struck/issued c. 1881, value of 19 Cents, for use by tea plantation workers. Choice Uncirculated, the only defect being a small area of darker surface on the right side of the Obverse, not affecting the Reverse. The Reverse show particularly strong luster and attractive greenish toning with red undertones at center. If submitted for certification certainly this would certify in the mid-Mint State range, based upon how they treat similar material.

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
