For Sale is the 1850 Half Penny Bank of Upper Canada Bank Token As shown in the photos. This is a great looking coin with some very nicely preserved detail for a copper coin of this age. Political unrest tore through fledgling Canada and in 1849 rioting mobs caused the capital to move from Montreal to Toronto. The Bank of Upper Canada received permission to mint copper coins, and half penny and penny tokens were the result. Obverse is St. George Slaying the Dragon and reverse is bank arms. Please look at the photos and judge the condition for yourself as grading is subjective.
