It is not a replica or a reproduction of a standard-issue US Mint coin as the the coin has a smaller diameter than the standard-issue coins of this date/design. Only 2935 gold dollars were minted by the Denver Mint in 1854. This is a chance to own one of these rare specimens to fill a blank in a collection or for educational purposes.
