1855 Liberty Seated Dollar, 'COPY' Stamped on Reverse

This is a replica of the 1855 Liberty Seated Dollar that is marked 'COPY' on the reverse. The Liberty Seated Dollar was minted from 1840-1873. The 1840-1865 dollars did not display the Motto IN GOD WE TRUST on the reverse. Dollars minted from 1866-1873 displayed the Motto on the reverse above the eagle. In 1855, the Philadelphia Mint produced ONLY 26,000 of these dollars. This is a way to get a copy of this rare coin to fill a spot in a collection, or for educational purposes.
