If you have high enough resolution on your screen, you can see that there is pitting on the surface of this coin. That means this coin was probably buried at one time and then dug up. And if it was dug up, it had to be cleaned. But since there are still some signs of spotty corrosion, I assume that the cleaning was not harsh. That's just my opinion.
With that said, if you are an investor, pass on this coin. It will probably return from a grading firm as "cleaned with environmental damage", extra fine details.
If you're a collector who wants to hold a really well detailed, semi key Indian for your collection, this may be for you. Check Ebay for unslabbed 1870 cents (and other key dates) and you will find other Indians like this one being advertised as XF or XF/AU.
Which comes to the question, how does the coin grade in dollars and cents. I believe and am therefore asking a VF price of $300.
The final decision is up to you. Thank you for looking and considering this offering.
The coin will be shipped Priority mail, fully insured.
In order to save on shipping low cost Lincoln cents, I will ship up to 3 Lincolns for $1, and up to 6 for $2. I have many dates and mint marks which makes it hard to post all of them. If you send me a want list, I will reply with pictures. You can then pick and choose what you want. Then I will post that package on Coin Book for you to purchase
