Item Description
This beautiful 1874-S Seated Liberty Half Dollar features a seated Lady Liberty on the obverse (front) and an eagle with arrows at the date on the reverse (back). The coin was minted at the San Francisco Mint, with a total mintage of unknown quantity. The Liberty Seated motif was one of the longest-running designs in United States history, with modifications made over the decades to accommodate changes in weight and design elements. The major sub-varieties in the Liberty Seated half dollar series include changes to the obverse and reverse, as well as variations in weight and edge reeding. The first two photos are of the coin.
