With only 17,000 pieces being produced by the San Francisco Mint, the 1877-S Liberty Head Eagle has a survival estimate of only 237 specimens remaining. The 1877-S $10 is an undervalued piece as they are typically seen in VF to XF grades and not many know the rarity of the date, but they are just as rare as the 1855-S, 1861-S & 1876-S. This has just a few hits, but we wouldn't be surprised if it were in an AU58 holder. Its visually striking tangerine gold color has smooth and well-preserved surfaces that display radiant luster. Do not mistake the reverse with wear as it is only a tad soft strike. Only auction comp is an AU58 PCGS CAC for $16,800 04/22 ST, a huge jump. This amazing rare survivor is an opportunity not to be missed and a fantastic add to a great collection.
