1878 P Seated Liberty Half Dollar - VF (Very Fine) condition with Errors

VF (Very Fine) condition as reported by the CoinSnap app (see photos and judge for yourself)

Discovered this coin in a mixed box of loose foreign coins.  It appears to be gold plated.  I believe it is either a fake or is a double strike with errors.  Included several photos.  Posting in my collection until I get some advice.

Errors:

1. Obverse shield showing through "LIBERTY" ribbon making liberty text unreadable
2. Reverse
   1. Various letters are faint
   2. Clear double strike in letters on the right hand side
