This is a replica of the 1882 Liberty Head $20 TWENTY DOLLARS Double Eagle that is marked 'COPY' on the reverse. Liberty Head Double Eagles were minted from 1849 to 1907. From 1849 to 1866, they displayed NO Motto on the reverse. Those minted from 1866 to 1876 displayed the Motto (In God We Trust) above the eagle on the reverse. From 1877 to 1907, the reverse spelled out the words TWENTY DOLLARS, rather than the TWENTY D. of earlier designs. In 1882, the Philadelphia Mint struck only 571 of this design. This is a way of owning a replica of this rare piece for filling a spot in a collection, or for educational purposes. The replica is made of brass with gold plating. It weighs 19.69+/- grams, and is 34+/- mm in diameter. Please bid with confidence based on my 100% positive feedback on eBay for over 10 years. Shipping is by USPS First Class Mail and is FREE.
