1883 Hawaii Dollar (Akahi Dala) - ANACS Certified EF-40 Details, cleaned.
KM 7, one year type coin. Minted at the San Francisco Mint, for the Kingdom of Hawaii. Dollar size silver coin .900 Silver, with King Kalakaua on the obverse. The original mintage of $1.00 coins (Akahi Dala) was 500,000 pieces, however over $824,000 in Hawaiian 1883 coinage (including dimes, quarters, half-dollar and dollar coins) were melted by the U. S. government after Hawaii was annexed in 1898. 453,652 of the Akahi Dala coins were redeemed and melted leaving a maximum of 46,348 Hawaii Dollar coins available to collectors.
