1883 Kingdom of Hawaii Territory 1/4 Dollar graded AU55 by PCGS.
A gorgeous, naturally toned beauty of a slider with nice original mint luster and no signs of cleaning or foul play. This coin turned 140 years old this year!
This is a low mintage issue of 500,000 coins and a survival rate of less than half the original mintage. Not often seen in AU or MS, here is a great opportunity for the enthusiast, specialist, and/or coin connoisseur of rare coins and 19th century history. .
This coin has wonderfully original toning and has just a hint of rub and break in the luster to hold this down to the choice AU/slider grade range. A staple scratch on the obverse to the left of the bust running to the rim and another scratch on the reverse keep this coin out of a numerically graded slab. Otherwise, this coin exhibits original surfaces and lovely antique toning with strong eye appeal. Scarce!
