1883 With No Cents ~ Liberty "V" Nickel (Lot E415A)
This the Famous "Racketeer Nickel"! Originally, the Mint used a large "V" on the reverse, but never added the word "CENTS"! Racketeers were gold-plating this 1883 Nickel and passing it off as a $5.00 gold piece. Before the end of 1883, the US Mint added the word "CENTS"
