This coin is an 1883-S US 90% Silver Morgan Dollar. It was graded by PCGS as AU55. The San Francisco Mint issued only 6,250,000 Morgan dollars during 1883. However, the actual number of Morgan Silver Dollars that still exist today from the mintage years of 1878 through 1904 remains unknown, as huge numbers of silver dollars were melted under provisions of the Pittman Act of 1918.
