For a low mintage date, the 1886 Liberty Nickel (as well as the 1885) has surprising issues with striking quality. Poor planchets and strike are common - I know a dealer that owned an Uncirculated 1886 Nickel that had a HOLE clear through the planchet! One wonders how that got through "QC". This coin is a true Very Fine with a strong LIBERTY and coronet, however shows flatness in the stars along the bottom part of the Obverse, as well as a weak hairline across Liberty's brow. So too there appears to be a very minor planchet flaw on the Reverse at 6:30 between the "C" and "V" (the darkish streak). Considering how this date is commonly graded by the services, where coins that are missing the "I" in LIBERTY are sometimes graded Fine-15, this seems certainly better than most certified Fines. Due to the relatively minor issues, I will offer this coin at about the value of a Fine, since that seems equitable (equivalent to Very Fine Greysheet Bid + my selling fees).

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
