1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago Aluminum "So-Called Dollar". It was a Souvenir Medal from the Exposition. It has busts of Columbus(to commemorate the 400th anniversary of coming to America) and Ferris on the Obverse along with the dimensions of the Ferris Wheel that George Washington Ferris Jr. designed for the Exposition. The Dimensions of the ferris wheel were a height of 264 feet and a weight of 4300 tons. It had engines that created 2000 Horse Power and could carry 2160 people at one time. The Reverse has a depiction of Ferris Wheel in the center with words "FERRIS WHEEL GREATEST MECHANICAL ACHIEVEMENT OF THE AGE". Supposedly this is first time they experimented with the new wonder metal "ALUMINUM" to see it would be possible use aluminum in stead of copper or silver. It still has the shine on the flat surfaces and virtualy no signs of wear on it.
