Item Description
Long stupidly undervalued compared to the 1893-S, despite a difference in mintage of only 10,000 coins. In fact, PCGS estimates a total estimated survival in all grades for the 1894 of LESS than that of the 1893-S. However the 1894 population is skewed towards Uncirculated coins due to the survival of a limited number of original bags dispersed in the 1950's and early 1960's. Due to this, circulated examples that are in the range of being affordable to the average collector are almost impossible to locate, and tend to be traded between dealers at over the posted wholesale value - such is the demand. Coins available below four figures are few and far between. This is a decent if not absolutely spectacular mid-grade example, perhaps just a touch scruffy but without any major defects
