A sharp AU/Unc "slider", typical of coins that emerged from bags during the 1950's in California. Unlike many other dates, the 1899-S did not survive in bag quantity to be widely released in the 1960's. Per David Bowers, a "2 beer Dollar" - basically nothing in the way of bagmarks (certainly nothing significant), but some wispy hairlines to show very brief circulation or minor mishandling. A sense of the Prooflike surfaces this date is also know for. What was commonly offered as "Gem Uncirculated' back in the pre-certification service days of the 1970's. Please note that due to value this will require Insured shipping with Signature Confirmation, hence the S&H shown. Optional Express Mail shipping (my cost $32+).

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
