THE OTHER WAS THE 1893 QUEEN ISABELLA OF SPAIN QUARTER.  ON A HISTORICAL NOTE GENERAL LAFAYETTE HELD DUAL CITIZENSHIP WITH THE U.S. AS WELL AS HIS NATIVE COUNTRY FRANCE. HE WAS GIVEN U.S. CITIZENSHIP BY GEORGE WASHINGTON (WHO IS ALSO ON THE COIN WITH HIM) FOR HELPING US TO WIN THE WAR OF INDEPENDENCE FROM GREAT BRITAIN.
