A solid Very Fine+, the Reverse is a bit stronger than the Obverse, not unusual with New Orleans Mint coinage. Like seemingly 90%+ of all survivors, cleaned at one point long ago, not too harshly and the color is more than acceptable. The odd look with “whiteness” around the Obverse stars is where I removed some accumulated crud, using a coin-safe method. The lighter color was caused by those areas being covered up and not toning with the rest of the coin. Obviously PCGS had no problem with this. I will note that I think this is a touch undergraded - a 1896-O Quarter that came back in the same submission as a VF-30 actually has a bit less detail than this coin. Now a blunt commentary, and I apologize if I offend anyone. I submitted this coin to CAC, and they did not sticker it - in my opinion beyond stupid considering that: a) a couple of the other coins in the submission that they did accept, and b) the unmitigated CRAP in other PCGS/NGC holders I have seen that other dealers want MORE for than this coin. I believe that this coin should have been CAC’d, however it is not priced as such - for reference the PCGS guide value is $525. If you know the series, you can make up your own mind about the matter. Images of the coin taken prior to certification are also included, as I think they may give a better view of the surfaces and color. Due to value this will require Insured shipping with Signature Confirmation, hence the S&H shown.

This seller has enabled "Manual Invoice Approval" on their account. This means that after you complete checkout, you will NOT be automatically redirected to PayPal (if applicable) and will not be able to complete payment immediately. Instead, the seller will review the invoice and may, or may not, add or subtract additional charges, as explained in their policies and/or listing description. When the invoice is updated and approved by the seller, you will receive an automated email notification later, and you will be able to pay the updated invoice as you would normally.
All checks must clear prior to payment of purchase, which may take up to 12 Business days. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE ITEMS, PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE PRIOR TO PAYMENT. I combine all shipping charges to the minimum necessary to get purchases to the customer. Please be aware that the USPS has recently increased postage for package shipments and Insurance - $7-$9 for shipping may look like a lot, but it barely covers my actual cost. If you have any questions, just ask.
