1902 Indian Head Cent PCGS MS64 BN Colorful Brick Red w/Sea Greens & Azure Hues
1902 Indian Head Cent graded by PCGS MS64 BN. This coin looks more red than brown, but is graded 64 BN, not even RB.
More importantly, this coin's eye appeal is superb. The primary brick red color is accentuated by the splashes and hints of auburn, sea greens and golds. There are no bag marks or any distracting marks on the obverse or the reverse. There is nary a hint of verdigris or corrosion and there are no hair lines whatsoever. The strike seems full, but Indian head Cents are not my forte so maybe I am wrong. I am not quite sure why this coin didn't grade 65 Brown, but alas, it did not.
Just a wonderfully eye appealing example, and a very choice coin that is so close to the gem level.
I use PCGS Photograde and The Guidebook to Indian Cents to conservatively offer my opinion of the grade. Please formulate your own opinion of grade based upon the high-resolution images provided.
