An attractive Choice BU example of this famous and popular Key Date.  The color is very even and just slightly darkened from the original, with none of the "woodgrain" planchet issues sometimes found on early S Mint dates.  No spots, stains, significant marks or other distractions.  Given the relatively wide variation in color commonly found on this date, does not look too far from a full Red based upon other RB & RD specimens I reviewed.  A note here regarding PCGS images: I have noted that the images shown under the Cert verification app tend to make many of this particular date look brighter and less toned than a conventional image, tending to "hide" woodgrain toning if it exists on the coin.  A review of a number of recent Heritage offerings will bear this out.  That is not the case with this example - I shoot a couple of additional images over this weekend to prove that point if anyone has a concern.  With the CAC "bean", this is a good choice for holding long term value - or give yourself that special Christmas present you've always wanted.  Please note that due to value, this will require Registered Mail shipping, which is slower delivery time; please take this into account prior to considering a purchase.
