Up until 1919 silver coins were made of 925 silver. In 1920 the silver content changed.

The Three Pence coins here are a little smaller then a US dime.

To me I do not see collecting coins unless you collect coins from where many of us came from. Myself I like collecting all world coins now since there are so many cultures. And it adds so much life to a coin collection.
