Here is a rather sad coin, a 1914 S Buffalo Nickel that has been sent to PCGS for restoration, but it seems that even they have limits on what can be done for a coin. PCGS concluded that this was a Good Detail coin, probably because it has been treated rather badly through the years, perhaps buried in the ground with other coins. Further, before that happened, the coin had seen the insides of many, many pockets over the years and thus become quite worn. Perhaps someone will someday invent a method of removing the corrosion without damaging the coin any further. You can see from the photos that the front of the coin (like so many Buffalo Nickels) is slightly misaligned with the reverse side. PCGS (July/August 2021) indicates that a G 4 coin would be worth $28 and USACoinbook warrants that if you were to go to a dealer to purchase a G 4 coin that you would pay about $29. However, because this graded coin was treated so poorly, you can have this fairly rare, but graded, coin for only $14 (plus shipping).
This item is a part of a liquidation sale currently in progress and is priced to sell. Retirement looms and with no one else in the family interested in this pastime, it is time to find new homes for all of my coins. Please note that other avenues of liquidation are being explored so this particular item may not be around much longer.
To ensure delivery, this coin will be sent via Certified Mail.
If ordering multiple coins, please note that the system only allows for those instances where you might buy more than 1 of a given item as opposed to buying multiple items. Thus, if you buy more than 1 item (or coin) from a vendor, you could be socked with what seems to be outrageous shipping costs. To overcome this, order all of the coins you want, but do NOT pay yet. I will then go in and adjust the invoice to bring the shipping costs to a more reasonable level. At this time you should pay me.
If paying by check or money order, this coin will be shipped once funds have cleared.
Thanks for looking.
