1915 Barber Half Dollar VG - Key Date 2 Full Rims LITY Nice Surface Quality
The 1915 Philadelphia Barber Half Dollar is one of the most well-known low mintage 20th century coins. The trio of coins, 1913, 1914 and 1915 are all known for the limited number the Philadelphia mint minted those 3 years.
This coin has 2 full rims, 4 letters of Liberty, LITY with fragments of the B and R
This coin is housed in an older 2x2 which I elected to preserve the coin within. The previous owner wrote VG+ on the 2x2 and some pricing data that's probably 15-20 years old. I respectfully disagree and disregarded that - it is not "VG+", not almost Fine as he wrote. It is just VG and really a liner G/VG, but I believe it just makes VG based on the overall level of detail, not just the LITY in Liberty which is just one measuring toll. A lot of other aspects have to be there to make the VG grade, and I believe they just get there. But that is just my opinion, so please evaluate the pictures provided and formulate your own estimation of grade.
Only 138,000 coins were minted for the 1915 Philadelphia Barber Half Dollar.
