This is a replica of the 1916 Type 1 Silver Standing Liberty Quarter that is marked 'COPY' on the reverse. The 1916 Quarter was issued by the Philadelphia Mint but only 52,000 coins were minted and all of the 1916 coins were minted in Philadelphia. The Type 1 or Variety 1 SL Quarters had NO STARS on the reverse. This is a way of owning a replica of this rare coin for filling a spot in a collection, or for educational purposes.
